I didn't die I promise!

Wow!
I cannot believe it's been 2 months since i posted anything on here.
No excuse for it really, I just became a little dry in knowing what to write. Have been trying to work through some stuff and didn't really have the desire to post at all........sorry!! That's back now though and want to keep this updated.
I am well. Things have been a little busy. We've managed to raise £1000 to take our kids to camp this summer. It's a camp called Soul Survivor that we went to last summer. A Christian camp which has main meetings of praise and teaching and also seminars. Along with cafes, shops and lots more to do, it's a fab place for people who want to explore Christianity or who are Christians. We raised the money by doing a meal in our church and doing bag packing at the local supermarket. The meal we charged people £7.50 for Lasagne and dessert, followed by coffee and mints......and we didn't manage to poison anyone.....how cool is that!
We have also started the Youth Alpha course with our youth group. The course is a 12 week course with a weekend away exploring what Christianity is and presenting it to the kids so they can come to their own point of deciding whether they want to begin a friendship with God. We are only on our 3rd session but it seems to be going well and we've even managed to introduce some songs into the meetings. The kids sometimes grumble but it's amazing how many of them are humming the songs after the event!
I had a lovely weekend away last weekend visiting Jon in Sedgefield Co Durham, a beautiful part of the country. I drove up on Friday evening, getting there late but much preferring that idea to driving up early on Saturday. Saturday we visited a beautiful area called Hamsterley Forest, it was what I needed to be away in nature and away from things that were familiar to me. Sunday we went to a church called the Tees Valley Community Church in Stockton.......sometimes you can go to church and the whole service just seems to have been written for you....it was one of those mornings for me! We then attended Stockton Baptist Tabernacle in the evening which was also a blessing. Monday we went for a drive to Saltburn By The Sea and drove down to Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. You really need to be fit to visit that place as the walk back up from the beach is a real test! The evening we walked around Hardwick Park in Sedgefield. Such a beautiful place and awesome to hear the birds and see nature cry out the glory of God.
Sadly I am back at work at the moment and looking out the little round window by my desk, but the desire to go out and enjoy nature is too much and so I think I am going to sign off. I will keep in touch better, by photos, and words. Apologies once again for the absence and please do post.
Love and blessings
Emma
